Danish Law On Parental Alienation

In Denmark, parental alienation is illegal under “Paragraf 243. mental violence from a near relation”. In December 2020, we wrote to Astrid Krag, the Minister of Social Affairs and the Interior of Danish, asking these questions:

  1. What evidence or factors are taken into consideration under Danish law when determining parental alienation?
  2. How is parental alienation, if proven, prosecuted under Danish law?
  3. What are the legal remedies for parents who are victims of parental alienation?
  4. What are the reunification solutions for children who were alienated from one of their parents due to the malicious influence of the other parent?

Below is the response we just received. We hope that it provides more specific information for our audience in Denmark: the parents and professionals dealing with parental alienation.
