What is the campaign about?
#ChildrenFirst is a worldwide campaign to raise social awareness on the psychological abuse of children in the form of parental alienation. When children are used as weapons in parents’ breakups, children are deprived of their right to be loved by both parents. Studies have shown that affected children suffer from a range of devastating short and long-term consequences. Our campaign calls on everyone to take a stand against this form of child abuse.
How to participate in the campaign?
The campaign is taken in the form of a short dance routine. We have chosen a dance instead of a protest or a rally because we want to raise public awareness in a positive and non-violent way. You can participate by:
- Joining or helping plan one of our in-person group flash mob dances in many cities around the world. Register here.
- Filming your own individual dance and sharing it on social media using the hashtag #ChildrenFirst. Please tag @VictimToHero so we can reshare your post(s).
- Share this page or social media posts about the campaign.
Below you will find the information you need to organize the campaign in your own city or to participate virtually.
What’s the dance routine?
We have a designated song and a designated dance routine. The song is “Putting Up A Fight”, donated to us by The Rewind. The dance routine (2 videos below) was choreographed by Jason Flores-Leveron.
The choreography is 1min long, which is perfect for Tiktok, Instagram Reel, FB story…
The song is about 5min long. You can download the mp3 here, or watch the song on Youtube here.
Here’s the structure of the flash mob dance:
- First 30-second:
- This is the intro music. This is where you show the campaign signage. This is also the perfect place for you to freestyle dance or to clap your hands to the music.
- Then approximately 1-min of the lyrics:
- This portion is for the choreographed dance.
- Then approximately 1-min of non-lyrics transitional music:
- This portion is for freestyle dancing and also for clapping your hands to encourage the public to join in with clapping. This is also a good place to show the campaign signage. If you have spare blue ribbons, you can hand some out to the public.
- Then approximately 1-min of the lyrics:
- This portion is to repeat the same choreographed dance above.
- Finally, the last outro music:
- This is where you again show the campaign signage, clapping hands and freestyle dancing. If you have spare blue ribbons, you can hand some out to the public.

The campaign signage
The campaign signs should have:
- the campaign hashtag #ChildrenFirst; and
- the link to VictimToHero.com website.
You can also print a qr code and tape it to the sign to help people go direct to the website when they point their phone to it. Here’s the qr code:
It can be made by using permanent markers to write on cardboard, or by printing out the writing and then taping it on a foam core poster board.
Dress code
Please dress in all black and wear a small blue ribbon. The blue ribbon can be made by using a small safety pin to pint a short strip of blue ribbon onto your outfit.
